We had a check in and Chris started with a wonderful yoga session and I started more yoga-based breathe exercises. We then had our second read-through with Ross and Emma as R&J respectively after making alterations to the script (adding lines because the standing readthrough the day before was a scant 1:20!). We had lunch, then journaled about what the last scene was about for their character (and for R&J additionally what the scene was about for their ghosts...)
After that we had an indepth discussion based journey through the smorgasbord of choices you can make from the hints that shakespeare gives you in the text; all the john barton peter hall stuff. Then introduced the all mighty tennis ball text excercise which they found pretty challenging at the beginning and then they started getting the hang of it and some great things started happening. Then we did a monologue workshop with a handful of the company who had already learned monologues...this involved one person in the circle standing up and them having to focus only on them without "strolling" and changing focus whenever a new person stood: this evolved into the people in the circle striking very strong attitudes and having the monologuer react to these....eventually had the person speaking stay rooted to the center with the partners in the circle allowed to get as close to them as they wanted...interesting to see how proxemics affects reactions...
