| "Every class was challenging but so much fun and I can't wait to do more things with The Factory. I love your way of working." "Finally verse was explained!" "To just do it. To just do it, and not even properly think about it. Not in a careless way, but to stop becoming to involved in yourself and actually remember that there is an audience there." "The Factory Futures team are inspiring and created an incredibly supportive environment for a young actor to practice their skills and learn new ones." | "A completely different approach from anything I have done previously. Was at many times a little scary, but in an exciting way." "I loved the emphasis on actually doing, rather than speaking about doing." "At Futures it felt as if we were constantly employing what we were learning and building on everything we had done." "It's been the best workshop environment I've been in. To be able to 'act' in front of total strangers but look - and talk - to them like it's no big deal, without the shakes, is actually a really big deal for me. I think that the Factory Futures programme is going to go far. Thank you!" |

The showcase-esque-thing at the end of the workshop sessions will be a great opportunity to put into practice everything we've learnt. After raising the idea with a few other factoryfuture members it strikes me that we might want to consider using our enthusiasm, hard work and all we have and will learn to fuel a project over the summer holidays. We could spend around a month rehearsing, leading up to a performance of a cut Shakespeare play. Thoughts on a postcard. Or here :)

Yes, anyone and everyone that fancies it - we should meet up and have a drink between the sessions in a few weeks to talk it over (after whipping up some more enthusiasm :)

Just thought I'd start a thread to get everyone for the afternoon session together, somewhere to post reflections and ideas every week and also somewhere to get hold of eachother!
As a first though (which may become a typical line of thought for me) does anyone want to go to the pub or stay together after next week's session (May 2nd) so we can spend some time getting to know eachother a bit better? |
