Boiling Frogs Session 18
For lots of this session we played with secrets, so my details of what we did are a little bare. Here's what we worked on though, and my changes.
Section 4 (In which the PC sets up the interview room)
Script Changes
I think we should replace the stage direction "The policeman gets the desk and starts to fold out the legs and put it in place" (pg 5) with the more flexible "The policeman sets up the interview room." So this time is the opportunity for the Policeman to set the room up however they want.
pg 8 Cut the Policeman's "Here. This ought to do it" at the top of the page.
Section 20 (In which the PC dismisses the threat of torture as a joke)
More secrets.
Section 18 (In which the sergeant confirms they will be tortured)
More secrets!
Also a line change
PG 27 Half way down change the sergeant's line "It just happens to be enhanced with a pneumatic drill." To "It just happens to be enhanced with a big ******* drill."
Section 5
Busting. Here's some notes.
PC - How many crimes do you suggest Mark has committed during this section?
Soon as he says 'Of course I know your name' explore the idea that the argument becomes about something else
A new argument develops with the 'Mark...Mark...Mark...' section.
Mark - Take apart the PC's argument. You really were only having a picnic, you should of course be let go.
Explore the idea that the argument over whether or not it is a 'formailty' is an argument over semantics.
For both, make sure the other person knows that you are not what they think you are. Not a typical policeman, or a typical protester.
We tried the scene with eye contact at all times.
We explored trying to make the audience look at the other person at all times. The scene is never on you.
That's all folks.
