BBC LOCATION PROJECT STEP BY STEP PLAN




Stage One

Pieces are sent ahead but brought in and played about with random castings so that the writer can hear them and feel what is needed. These may be recorded as little tests if needed. No director yet. This is about the writing.


This process is repeated with new drafts if needed until the writer feels the piece is ready to submit as a final version.

A rough draft concentrating on the writing is recorded with random castings and listened to. Suggestions and thoughts are shared.
The writer may if necessary explain elements that will be added in the recording etc.


If revisions are needed then another rough draft is recorded / played with until the writer is a happy.

All scripts are looked at by Tim Evans, Alex Hassell, Abigail Le Fleming and Jeremy Mortimer.




Stage Two

A director is chosen for the piece by TE and AH.

A cast is chosen for the piece by the writer, the director and TE and AH.


The piece is cast, learned and rehearsed.

The Director of the piece submits an explanation of how, where, when they wish to record the piece; and with what technical and creative approach they intend to use. TE, AH, A LF, JM will approve that the logistics are possible or not, and make any final suggestions / feedback.


The recording is planned and arranged.



Stage Three

The piece is recorded. 



THE PROJECT SHOULD CONCLUDE ONCE ALL THE PIECES ARE RECORDED AND ABLE TO BE POSTED FOR DOWNLOADED AS PODCASTS. THEY SHOULD ALL HAVE, AS IT WERE, COVER ARTWORK LIKE AN ALBUM AND BE RELEASED ALL AT ONCE UNDER A PROJECT NAME. THE FACTORY'S FIRST ALBUM OF AUDIO DRAMA IS LAUNCHED!



STAGES 1 AND 2 WILL OCCUR UP TO AND INCLUDING 6TH JULY.
 AFTER THAT DATE, THE NEW WRITING WORK WILL FOCUS ON OUR UPCOMING HAMPSTEAD THEATRE PROJECT.



STAGE 3 - THE RECORDINGS - WILL OCCUR AT SPECIFIC TIMES ARRANGED BY THE PIECE'S DIRECTOR, ACTORS AND THE FACTORY ADMINISTRATION FOR DATES AFTER AND BEYOND 6TH JULY.
